Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Clubfit.golf is operated by GolferX, Inc. ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and which third parties may receive data when you use our site.
What We Collect
- Swing and fitting data: Metrics you provide via PDF upload, numeric entry, or the guided questionnaire (swing speed, spin, launch angle, handicap, etc.).
- Zip code: Provided at submission to enable fitter referrals and regional analysis.
- Email address: If you opt into the fitter network waitlist, submit feedback, send a referral, or share results with another email address.
- Anonymous session identifiers: A randomly generated session ID tied to each fitting, along with device type (mobile or desktop) and approximate location inferred from your IP address.
- Aggregated usage patterns: How users navigate and interact with the site (page views, button clicks, time on page, drop-off points). Used to improve the product. Anonymous and aggregated.
How We Use It
- Generating fitting recommendations
- Improving our recommendation engine, product database, and user experience
- Aggregating anonymized fitting outcomes (which recommendation was shown, helpfulness ratings, and purchases) so golfers with a similar profile benefit from what works. These crowd-sourced results are pooled and anonymized — never shared in a way that identifies an individual.
- Notifying waitlist subscribers when relevant services launch in their area
- Affiliate attribution and commission reporting
- Diagnosing errors and abuse prevention
Cookies and Trackers
Clubfit.golf itself does not set first-party tracking cookies. However, the following third-party tools that we integrate may set cookies, identifiers, or similar tracking technologies on your browser when you use our site:
- PostHog — product analytics and session replay. We've configured PostHog to operate in anonymous, cookie-less mode where possible. Session recordings have all form inputs masked so personal data is not captured. PostHog may still set short-lived identifiers in browser storage to maintain session continuity.
- Awin — affiliate click tracking. When you click a “Shop” link on our site, Awin sets attribution cookies to track the referral so we can receive credit if you make a purchase at the destination retailer.
- Destination retailers (e.g., 2nd Swing) — once you click through to a retailer, their site sets its own cookies governed by their privacy policy.
You can disable cookies and trackers via your browser settings or use privacy tools (uBlock, AdGuard, Brave shields). Doing so will not break the fitting tool but may prevent us from receiving affiliate credit for your purchases.
Affiliate Links and Data Passed to Merchants
Clubfit.golf earns commissions when users click affiliate links on our site and complete qualifying purchases at partner retailers. We participate in the Awin affiliate network and currently link out to 2nd Swing.
When you click an affiliate link, the following data is passed to the merchant or affiliate network:
- The product page you intended to visit
- Your IP address (visible to any web request)
- Browser user-agent string
- Our publisher ID (so commission is attributed correctly)
- An anonymous click reference and session ID for our internal reporting
Once you land on the merchant's site, their privacy policy applies. We do not control or have access to data they collect.
Service Providers
We use trusted third parties to provide infrastructure, processing, and communication services. They are permitted to process data only as needed to perform those services:
- Hosting and storage — Vercel (application hosting and serverless functions, Upstash Redis for session storage).
- AI processing — Anthropic (generates personalised recommendation rationale from your swing data).
- Analytics — PostHog and Vercel Analytics (covered in Cookies above).
- Email delivery — Resend (sends waitlist confirmations, fitter referrals, feedback receipts, and shared results).
- Affiliate networks and retailers — Awin and partner retailers (covered in Affiliate Links above).
Contributor Accounts (Equipment Database)
If you create a contributor account for our public equipment database, we store your email address (used only for single-use sign-in links — we never store passwords), your chosen public display name, and your contributions. Your email is never displayed publicly and never appears in the public dataset. You can delete your account at any time from the contribute page; deletion immediately removes your email, sign-in sessions, and display-name registration. Because the contribution history is a permanent public record, past contributions remain in the dataset attributed to your display name after account deletion — choose a pseudonym if you prefer. Contributions are published under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license described in the contributor terms.
Data Retention
We retain fitting session data and waitlist entries indefinitely to support product improvement, future communications, and historical recommendation accuracy. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the address below.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@golferx.io and reference your session or email address.
Children
Clubfit.golf is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date above will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers where we have an email address on file.
